Course: Master of Architecture and Master of Architecture with a Track in Interior Architecture
Location: Chicago, USA
Course dates: August 2024 to May 2026 (or 2027)
Application deadline: continuous enrolment

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago offers two professional, NAAB-Accredited degrees in Architecture: a Master of Architecture, and a Master of Architecture with a Track in Interior Architecture.

Students in the MArch program learn the history, theory and technique of architectural design, developing the skills and experience necessary for professional practice and the critical thinking necessary to develop new ideas and drive invention and expand the discipline of architecture.

Students in the MArch with a Track in Interior Architecture program gain all the expertise necessary for the practice of architecture while developing the sensibilities specific to the growing field of Interior Architecture.

Both programs teach through hands-on inquiry, experimentation and exploration, and coursework combines project-based design studios, technical courses in building structures and systems professional practice, architectural technology, and electives in architectural history and theory.

Applications are open to students with a bachelor's degree. Academic and/or work experience in architecture, environmental or interior design, or related fields are recommended but not required for students accepted into the 90-credit MArch, Option Three program.

Students with undergraduate pre-professional Bachelor's degrees in architectural studies, architectural technology, or interior design may be accepted into the two-year, 60-credit MArch, Option Two program.
